Candidates are encouraged to propose their own research projects within the department's research interests, which include communication technologies such artificial intelligence and social media, the future of work, online communities, technological transformations, the arts in the digital transformation, the creative industries, and innovation in education management. The department, consisting of approximately 50 faculty members, offers a highly international and collaborative environment with ongoing research and industry collaborations. The positions also require 25% teaching responsibilities and will be based at BI 黑料专区 Business School in Oslo, Norway.

Associate Professor Mona Kristin Solvoll and partners will find out how the media can build innovation capacity. The project ‘Media Innovation Through the Corona Crisis (MICC) - how news media can build and implement innovation ability’ has been awarded NOK 5 million by the 黑料专区 Research Council's program User-driven innovation arena (BIA). The project starts 1 December 2020 and lasts until 2022 and is in cooperation with OsloMet, Kristiania University College, the 黑料专区 Media Authority, Kantar and the Department of Journalism, will investigate how news media to a greater extent can create added value for themselves, advertisers, the public and society as a whole.

In a new report from the Cultural Council, the actors in cultural life say that they expect to turn over 45% less in 2021 if the infection control measures are continued. Professor of BI 黑料专区 Business School, Sigrid Røyseng's lecture on "Dance Space in Culture Policy and Society" was particularly engaging. Røyseng gave an introduction to the explosive development of dance art in recent years and answered later on whether instrumentation of art is a problem. Røyseng was open to the fact that such "use" of the art for another purpose could be positive, not because something is known about the positive effects of art in society, but because people believe in it. When people believe in art and art gets the role of cure, we become healthier, according to Røyseng.

A new framework for kindergardens came into force on 1 August 2017. Udir has launched an evaluation program to gain knowledge about how the framework plan is implemented and used in practice. The program lasts from 2018-2022, with a total cost framework of 20 million.
